Founder & Director , Consultant Occupational Therapist

For more than nine years, Mayuri worked within a specialist educational setting, supporting pupils with complex learning and developmental needs. She has extensive experience carrying out detailed assessments and creating personalised intervention programmes that empower children to participate more successfully in daily activities, learning, play, and social experiences.

Families often value Mayuri’s warm, collaborative, and holistic approach. She believes that meaningful progress happens when children feel understood and when parents, carers, teachers, and therapists work together towards shared goals. Every intervention is carefully tailored to the individual child, celebrating strengths while addressing areas of challenge.

Alongside her clinical work, Mayuri is passionate about mentoring future professionals and has supported Occupational Therapy students from Brunel University and London South Bank University during their placements. She is committed to continuous learning, innovation, and sharing knowledge to improve outcomes for children and young people.

Her dedication to excellence has been recognised nationally. In 2017, she received a Highly Commended Outstanding Occupational Therapist Award at The Occupational Therapy Show. Projects developed under her leadership have also received national recognition, including awards from the TES Independent School Awards and Education Business Awards.

In January 2024, Mayuri realised her vision of creating a service that truly reflects her values and expertise by opening Kidspire OT in Marlow, Buckinghamshire.

Today, her mission remains simple: to help children overcome barriers, embrace their potential, and develop the skills and confidence they need to flourish both now and in the future.

“Every child has unique strengths waiting to shine. My role is to help uncover those strengths and create opportunities for growth, independence, and success.” — Mayuri Tokekar
