Trainee Occupational Therapist (London & Marlow)

RiaEngaging in activities or occupations we enjoy brings meaning to our lives. Having the opportunity to support people to achieve, thrive and be happy is the reason I chose to complete an MSc in Occupational Therapy.

I am an organized, friendly and confident individual who persistently works to the best of my ability. I have always been highly motivated in developing my knowledge to provide creative, evidenced based support for clients.

I have a BSc in Psychology and have worked in the field of occupational therapy as a paediatric OT assistant for over 7 years whilst also gaining experience working as an ABA tutor after completing RBT (Registered Behavioural Technician) training. I have worked with neurotypical and neurodivergent children and young adults for over 10 years. I am proud to have been a part of a creative team, developing the ‘OT cafe’ project in 2019 which won a national award at the TES Independent Schools Awards for ‘Special needs initiative of the year’. Later the same project won ‘School catering’ award at the Education Business Awards 2019.

I enjoy creating and developing interventions using play-based activities to focus on handwriting, academic skills, self-care, listening and attention, language and communication, play and social skills, gross and fine motor skills. The work I do with children and adolescents allows me to be creative and resourceful maximising motivation and creating a fun learning experience which I find extremely rewarding.

In my free time I enjoy cooking, playing with my dog and socialising with my friends and family.
