Trainee Occupational Therapist (Midlands)
I have graduated with a BA (Hons) in Special Needs, Inclusion and Education in 2019 and I am in my final year of MSc in Occupational Therapy working towards qualifying as an Occupational Therapist by summer 2024. For the last 13 years I have been working as a Behaviour Therapist within the field of Autism in clinical and non-clinical settings offering mainly, but not limited to early intervention services in schools, home and the community.
Work ethos is very important to me, and my main principle is to always provide quality services by using evidence-based practices, maintaining professional competency, working hand in hand with other professionals and ensuring ongoing and respectful therapeutic relationship with the person and their family.
Since the beginning of my professional journey, I have focused on continuing professional development by taking part in numerous trainings & workshops including RBT Training (40 hours), PECS Training (Level 2), Principles of Applied Behaviour Analysis & Ethics in ABA (BCBA,5th Task List), Children’s and Young People’s Mental Health (Level 2), NVQ Level 3 Nursery Nurse and many more.
I have always been part of a Multi-Disciplinary Team and as a Behaviour Therapist I am lucky enough to being mentored and supervised by amazing and passionate Behaviour Analysts that have helped me to develop valuable skills which contribute to the quality of my work.
Additionally, as an Trainee Occupational Therapist I am surrounded by great OTs, that inspire me to reach my full professional potential every day. It is a great passion of mine to be able to practice as a Paediatric Occupational Therapist while using the principles of Applied Behaviour Analysis. I have personally found that bringing the two disciplines together, can create exciting learning opportunities for all!
I am fuelled by coffee and good vibes; I love Olympic Weightlifting and I think that petting an animal is the medicine for the soul.
