Occupational Therapy Assistant (London)
I am a passionate Occupational Therapy Assistant with a background rooted in Denmark and Danish culture. My journey into this field began during my studies in pedagogy. I was able to seize the opportunity to intern in London, working with young individuals facing learning difficulties in a school environment. My diverse experiences include working as a private carer and teaching assistant for children with special needs. I have been working as an Occupational Therapy Assistant in a specialised school for Autism, supporting individuals aged 7 to 19 for over 3 years.
Over time, my commitment to making a positive impact on young lives has created a deep desire to understand and learn about paediatric occupational therapy. This facilitated my collaboration with KidspireOT. As an Occupational Therapy Assistant, I guide children through play-based activities, in turn developing their essential skills which are crucial for success and independence. In my sessions, I concentrate on specific areas assessed and supervised by an Occupational Therapist. These include fine motor skills, gross motor skills, visual motor skills, self-care, feeding therapy, and various other life skills.
I strive to create a supportive and encouraging environment for the growth and development of the young people I work with, as I feel that helping others has always been my calling. I bring a unique blend of fun, love, patience, and calmness to my work, and I firmly believe individuals respond positively well to those who embody these qualities.
